I am your USB flash Drive with 8GB of storage. I am unlike any other flash drive that you’ve ever had before. I am your friend and Pal. I am capable of holding thousands of your files. I will keep your files and data safe with my protective body. You can drop me, throw me, or play with me and your data will remain safe. I am a stuffed animal that you can do something with.
When I am plugged in, my heart glows...I love data!!! I have a keychain so that you can easily take me anywhere. Oh...and did I mention that I want to be your friend. I want to tell you about me....after all friendships are all about communication. I want to tell you my story. I want to tell you about my friends...Real animals in the wild. I want to hear you share your story. I want to know what’s important to you. Each time you feed me with data, you are sharing your important stuff with me. I will protect the things that are closest to your heart. And I will keep them all between you and me!
What’s up, Pal? I’m Jack. I’m a West African Giraffe. You probably recognize me from the pictures or the zoo. I’m sorta famous. I have some friends at the zoo that are doing some great things to help me and my family. There are less than 250 West African giraffes left in the wild. We are one the two most endangered types of giraffe. There are 9 different types of giraffe - these are all my cousins. Ten years ago, I had more than 140,000 cousins. Now, I have less than 80,000. My family and I could all be gone in one generation. That means, kids may never know what a giraffe is.
I am really good at entertaining people, and most people think giraffes are pretty cool. We are the tallest animals in the world. I’m one of the tallest, standing 18 feet tall. That’s almost as high as two basketball hoops stacked on top of each other.
The pattern of patches on my body are more than great camouflage. My patches also have blood vessels that help me release my body heat and stay cool. My patches release heat through the inside of my spots. It’s like my skin is mesh and my skin “breathes” through my spots.
Here are some other things you might not know about me. My steps are so long that you would need to run to keep up with me when I’m walking. Every time I lift my head, I am picking up 500-600 pounds. I am a social animal and I look out for my friends. We usually hang out in groups of about 10-15. When we are threatened, even by a lion, we come together to defend ourselves. I kick so hard that I can crush a lion’s skull.
Not what you expected? That’s right, giraffes are far from boring.
Now is your chance to plug into the world of a species that may soon be gone.
Guess what? Each FlashPal you purchase also donates 10% to the Giraffe Conservation Foundation (GCF), and that's just the beginning. As a FlashPal owner, you will get to know real giraffes while staying connected to a global mission to save them from extinction. You will see the world in a new way with FlashPals, as they tell a story like you have never heard before.
